Hiawatha Route

a. k. a. The Tunnels Ride

This is a ride for the whole family!  Bicycle through nine tunnels and over seven former railroad trestles on this scenic Rails-to-Trails ride on the Montana Idaho border.

hiawatha2.jpg (248137 bytes)The ride is approximately 13 miles (one way) with an optional shuttle at the end or you can turn around and cycle back to your vehicle.  The trail maintains a grade of 2-3% for leisurely riding.  A nominal trail fee is charged.

The tunnels are DARK, so bring your brightest flashlight or bike light for navigation through the tunnels.
