Let's hit the trail!  The Helena Bicycle Club organizes several mountain bike rides during the season.  The level of difficulty varies from gravel roads to technical single track, flat to mountainous terrain.  Take a look at the schedule... we're sure you'll find something that fits your ability.

Monday Night Mountain Bike Rides
Relaxed pace, two-hour mountain bike rides on local mountain bike trails around Helena.  Rides leave from the patio of the Lewis & Clark Library at 6:30 p.m.  Great rides to help improve your mountain biking skills.

May 14 through July 30... leave at 6:30 p.m.
August 6 through 27... leave at 6 p.m.

June 16, Saturday Scratch Gravels Mountain Bike Ride
Join club president, Mark Reinsel, as he leads us along his favorite trails in the Scratch Gravels.  Meet at the Reinsel residence, 1030 Vallejo, at 9 a.m. for this 13-mile ride.   Mark describes the ride as fun with a 1,000-foot elevation gain and a few technical areas.

June 23, Saturday Priest Pass Mountain Bike Ride
Mountain bike from the backside of Great Divide Ski area over Priest Pass.  Approximately 30 miles.  Meet at Fireside Coffee, 1446 Euclid, at 9 a.m. to carpool to trailhead.

July 7, Saturday Hiawatha Route - The Tunnels Ride
MEMBERS ONLY RIDE... This is a ride for the whole family!  Bicycle through nine tunnels and over seven former railroad trestles on this scenic Rails-to-Trails ride on the Montana-Idaho border.

August 4, Saturday Willard Creek  Mountain Bike Ride
12-mile loop.  Rolling terrain with combination of Forest Service roads and singletrack.  Meet at Hugo's Pizza in Montana City at 8 a.m.

August 11, Saturday Minnehaha Loop Mountain Bike Ride
This 16-mile loop is the mountain biker's mini double divide ride.  A combination of Forest Service roads, doubletrack and singletrack.  Meet at Moose Creek Campground (about 4 miles down road to Rimini) at 8 a.m.

Bring your camping gear and stay the night... many other mountain biking trails leave from the same campground.

Sept 1-3, Saturday-Monday Kings Hill Cycling Weekend
MEMBERS ONLY RIDE... Bring the whole family, both cyclists and non-cyclists, to Kings Hill Scenic Byway for a weekend of biking, hiking, camping, and socializing.
